Matt’s workshop was everything I was looking for and more.

I love street photography but I’ve always found getting started a little intimidating. Matt breaks the practice down to a really easy-to-understand level that would suit photographers of all abilities and backgrounds. It was a perfect mix of theory and practical and his constructive feedback was incredibly helpful.

I can’t wait to get out there and practice what I’ve learnt and I’m super thankful for Matt for helping get started on the journey.

I truly enjoyed the experience with Matt and ABSOLUTELY RECOMMEND! Having always been afraid of doing street photography myself, Matt listened to our fears and challenges, gave us examples and tasks, do’s and don’ts and prompted us up to get excited to go out to the streets and try it out for ourselves. He honestly created a safe environment where we felt free to try new things out and the experience became so fun that I carry a camera on me all the time now.

This experience also allowed me to expand my mind into reading moments at a higher speed, anticipate them, and to not be afraid of snapping away. By the end of the day, the kindness in which Matt saw our photos and gave us feedback was priceless. He still had in mind the challenges we had shared with him at the beginning, and made us feel confident without any judgement.

I cannot wait to go back. This is certainly an experience to repeat over and over again.

I recently attended Matt’s street photography workshop in London. It was a cracking day and had the perfect blend of theory and practical elements. I loved the specific topics that allowed me to focus on something during the practical sessions. I would highly recommend the workshop for anyone looking at getting into street photography or taking their street photography up a gear.

Matt is able to pass on his bountiful knowledge with his very personable, friendly, welcoming and supportive teaching manner. He is patient and will happily spend time listening to your questions and help you. Matt’s street photography is amazing and he is able to pass on his bountiful knowledge to help you in your street photography.

Even as a seasoned photographer, I learned new things that will also help in my wedding photography as well my street photography. I felt refreshed and left itching to apply what I had learned in my future photography!

I heard Matt Badenoch on the Ninedots Podcasts and as soon as I heard he was doing a street photography workshop – Street with Matt, I booked it before the Podcast was finished (I know!). All I needed to be sold on how incredible his work was and how much in-depth knowledge he shared on the podcast. I attended his workshop yesterday and it was exactly what I really needed to push my documentary approach for weddings and travel photography. I would highly recommend the workshop to anyone who wants a good balance of theory with practical hands-on training. Added bonus – Matt is a really cool guy to hang out with.

Street photography is exciting and scary at the same time. Having someone like Matt walk me through not just the theory and concepts of a great street photo but also give short exercises to try out different techniques, was absolutely amazing. During the practical part of the workshop, I felt pushed out of my comfort zone but only enough to test the waters and not feel completely out of my depth!

Photography in general but specifically street photography, is a very male-dominated field. However, throughout the workshop, I never felt out of place. And I actually think women have it easier in this genre because we might appear less threatening – however, very few women dare to venture into this kind of documentary photography. With Matt as a very natural and patient teacher though, this really is a great place to start venturing into this kind of photography, whether you already have experience or are brand new to the genre.

I can fully recommend learning from Matt’s vast experience in this kind of work and inching out of the comfort of shooting what and who you know. The workshop gave me a boost of confidence and inspired me to make more time to go out in the streets and shoot for fun again!

I attended Matt’s Dublin workshop in September and couldn’t recommend it highly enough. Matt’s depth of knowledge and passion for street photography makes him a ridiculously inspiring & talented educator.

Matt’s morals & ethics shine through in his street teachings. He’s a gentle and kind soul and IMHO that’s something that is generally missing in street photography.

He’s been to each and every Doc Day and his photo-walks have inspired so many Doc Dayers. If you get a chance get on his workshops!

I booked Matt’s Street Photography Workshop to explore that side of photography with the hope of bringing some of the learnings into my wedding photography business.

The day was well structured. The pace was perfect, with the assignments broken into short 30-minute blocks meaning I’d enough time to practice and play but not so much time that I got bored or frustrated.

Speaking of frustration, I did find myself getting frustrated when I wasn’t nailing the shots I wanted but Matt gave helpful and practical advice to pull me out of the funk and sent me off to play again. I’d recommend this course to professionals and amateurs alike.

I did Matt’s street photography workshop in London. The theory at the beginning was well thought out and prepared me well for taking photos in the street. Matt was very patient and supportive throughout the day. And helped me to achieve results that I’m very pleased with. I will definitely be using what I leant in the future.

I’m a very beginner at photography and Matt helped with settings and gave lots of advice on how to use what I learned. Highly recommended!

Matt’s One Day Street Photography Workshop was a great primer for giving you the tools and confidence to go out and shoot on the street, connect with other photographers, and a chance to shoot for fun but with purpose and intention too. A brilliant day!

Street photography was a “completely different” terrain for me as a wedding photographer – but I am very grateful that Matt took me by the hand for these first steps. He introduced our small group to various stylistic devices in a very understandable way, so that we were able to master even the small photo tasks in a short time, much to our own amazement. Matt creates a great feel-good atmosphere with his patient and humorous manner, which makes learning easier and his honest criticism was constructive at all times. For me, the tour with Matt was absolutely valuable!
