The 9 Best Street Photography Podcasts
Over the years, podcasts have kept me company on long drives, during editing marathons, and more recently, trying to get the baby to bed. I think it’s about time I gave the best Street Photography podcasters out there a well-deserved thank you and shout out.
Listening to street photography podcasts is such a good way to stay connected to the craft, continue to learn and be inspired. There’s something about hearing other street photographers talk about their process, their doubts, and those little moments that clicked for them. Sometimes, I’ll hear someone describe a scene or a mindset shift, and it’s like a lightbulb goes off for my own work.
The 9 Best
Street Photography Podcasts
(in no particular order)
1. The Street Life Podcast
The Street Life podcast is a relaxed and humorous, conversation-style show where hosts John St and Mark Davidson chat with street photographers from all over. They dive into everything from creative struggles to gear, mindset, and random stories from the streets. It’s the kind of podcast that feels like you’re hanging out with mates who just really love street photography.
2. Street Photography Magazine
The Street Photography Magazine podcast is hosted by Bob Patterson and is likely the longest-running podcast on my list. It offers a relaxed and insightful look into the world of street and documentary photography. Each episode features conversations with photographers from around the globe, discussing their creative journeys, techniques, and the stories behind their images.
3. Hit The Streets with Valerie Jardin
Hit The Streets with Valerie Jardin is a warm, down-to-earth podcast that dives deep into the world of street photography through interviews, tips, and honest conversations. Valerie brings on a wide range of guests—from well-known pros to passionate hobbyists—to talk about creativity, gear, projects, and life behind the lens. Sadly, Valerie ended the podcast in 2021, however, it is still well worth listening to the archive of old episodes.
4. The Street Photography Show
The Street Photography Show is a laid-back podcast hosted by Mark Rossi, where he chats with street photographers from all over the world. It’s all about hearing real stories, creative journeys, and the ups and downs of life behind the camera. Most of his interviewees were new names to me, which was refreshing. With most episodes only lasting 30 minutes, this podcast is great for those, like myself, with shorter attention spans.
5. The FujiCast
The Fujicast is a fun and easygoing podcast hosted by photographers Kevin Mullins and Neale James, originally centered around Fujifilm gear but now covering all things photography. They mix listener questions, guest interviews, and honest conversations about the creative life, running a photo business, and everything in between. While this is the only one on my list that isn’t exclusively about street photography, street is covered in the majority of episodes. You also don’t need to be a Fuji shooter to enjoy this podcast.
6. Streets Unplugged
Streets Unplugged is a street photography podcast hosted by Paulo Lobo and produced by the Luxembourg Streetphoto Collective. The show features in-depth conversations with photographers from around the world, including guests like Richard Kalvar, Samuel Lintaro Hopf, and Tatsuo Suzuki, discussing their creative processes and experiences in the field.
7. Leica Street Photography Collective
The Leica Street Photography Collective podcast, hosted by Ricardo Huerta (aka Ricky), is a heartfelt and immersive series that delves into the world of street photography through candid conversations with photographers from around the globe. While centered around Leica users, the podcast offers valuable insights and stories that resonate with all photography enthusiasts.
8. Inside Street Photography
A podcast hosted by Joe DiMeo that delves into the mental and emotional aspects of street photography. Rather than focusing solely on technical skills, the show explores the thoughts and feelings photographers experience before and after capturing images. It’s a reflective and personal series that offers listeners a deeper understanding of the creative process behind street photography.
9. Street Shots Photography Podcast
Street Shots Photography Podcast is a relaxed, insightful show hosted by photographers Antonio M. Rosario and Ward Rosin. They dive into street photography, creativity, and the emotional side of making images, often sharing personal stories and lessons learned along the way. Whether they’re discussing photo books, gear, or the role of AI in photography, it feels like sitting in on a thoughtful conversation between two friends who really care about the craft.
