Barcelona Street Photography Workshop

Location: Central Barcelona

Time/Dates:

  • 9am Friday 17th – 5pm Sunday 19th October 2025

Cost: £550 GBP

Long before I got into photography, Barcelona was one of my favourite cities to explore and get lost in. It is now one of my favourite playgrounds for street photography. The place is full of characters and stories around every corner. From muscle beach to lively squares and charming lanes to stunning museum architecture and Gaudi’s icon Cathedral. At night the music starts and the city takes on a new life. On this workshop, I will introduce you to the best locations in Barcelona for street photography, as well as the tastiest tapas restaurants and atmospheric cafes & bars.

As an added bonus, October is a great opportunity to escape the colder and wetter climates most other European countries endure during that time of year. I can’t wait to return to this fascinating and fun-filled city and I hope you’ll be able to join me.

What to expect from this three day workshop?

This workshop won’t be a relaxing holiday in the sun. The days will be long and you will be pushed. However, the payout both in terms of your photography development and the depth of the experience, will be huge. That I can promise.

FAQs for 3-Day Workshops

What is included in the price?

In addition to the tuition and ‘tour guiding’ on the trip, I will be providing information and advice prior to the trip. You will be responsible for all your other expenses (travel, accommodation, meals etc). During the 3 days, we will have meals together but pay separately.

Will we stay at the same hotel?

Because people’s individual budgets and tastes can vary so much when it comes to accommodation, you are free to say where you like. For each workshop I will give the address of where the theory element will be taking place, so that we can try and stay close to each other, making meeting up and socialising easier.

How long are the days?

It will be an intensive 3 days, often starting early and finishing late at night. So best not to make any other plans during the 3 days. We will meet at 9am on the first day (starting with theory in a classroom setting) and finish at 6pm on the last day, followed by meal out if people don’t need to leave.

What gear do you recommend for street photography?

When it comes to gear with street photography, less is generally more. So I always recommend one body and one prime lens. It’s also good to have a relatively wide lens. Personally, I always shoot with a 35mm or 28mm prime lens (full frame equivalent). The quality of the camera or lens isn’t that important for street, as long as you’re comfortable using it.

Film or Digitial Cameras?

While film cameras can be great for street photography, if you have a digital camera, I recommend bringing that for my workshops.

Why? Two reasons; 1) it allows you to play and experiment more (you don’t have to worry about the limited number of frames you have left on your film), 2) it allows me to review your photos during the day and offer tailored advice.

What skill level is this workshop for?

My 3-Day workshops are for all skill levels. The only requirement for attending this workshop is that you are comfortable using your camera (I do not recommend buying a new camera, which you are not familiar with, for this trip). With only 6 attendees per workshop, you will receive a significant amount of 1-2-1 time with me.

How many people will be on the workshop?

All my workshops are limited to 6 attendees. The smaller number allows us to blend in more with our environment on the streets when we’ve got our cameras out. It also allows me to target the content more towards your ability, especially during the 1-2-1s.
