WORKSHOP DETAILS
Location: Porto, Portugal
Date: 17th-19th April 2026 | 3 Full Days
Attendees: 6
Cost: £550 GBP
Porto has a character all its own, from its steep, winding streets and azulejo-covered buildings to its historic trams and riverside charm. The city feels deeply rooted in history, yet it’s full of youthful energy, with creative spaces tucked between crumbling façades and traditional taverns. Porto is a fantastic place to explore with your camera. It’s the kind of place where you’ll want to slow down, linger over a bica at a café, and let the rhythm of the streets guide you.
Porto offers an incredible backdrop for street photography. You’ll move through steep staircases and narrow alleyways, across iron bridges and along the Ribeira waterfront, capturing daily rituals, layered textures, and the ever-changing play of light and shadow that makes this city so compelling.
As with all my multi-day workshops, I’ve spent time curating a thoughtful mix of local spots for our breaks to give you a real taste of the city. From no-frills seafood joints and neighbourhood bakeries to atmospheric bars that spill out onto the streets.
What to Expect from this Workshop?
This workshop won’t be a relaxing holiday in the sun. The days will be long, and you will be pushed. However, the payout both in terms of your photography development and the depth of the experience you have, will be huge. That I can promise.
During this workshop, you can expect a mix of theory, covering practical tips and approaches, and plenty of shooting as I introduce you to the best locations in this unique and character-rich city for street photography. You will have daily opportunities to photograph with me 1-2-1 and receive feedback on your photos. You will leave with a selection of your top 10 images from the workshop.
With an intimate group size of 6 participants, you will get to connect with people with the same passions and values as you. The only skill-level requirement is that you feel comfortable with the camera you will be using.

Workshop FAQs
What is included in the price?
The education, daily 1-2-1s and pre-workshop Zoom planning call are included in the price. You will be responsible for all your own expenses (travel, accommodation, meals etc).
Where will we stay during the workshop?
Because people’s budgets and preferences relating to accommodation vary so much, I do not recommend a specific hotel. However, I do provide the address for the theory elements of the workshop (usually my Airbnb), and recommend you book accommodation close to/with easy access to it. Most attendees find their accommodation via Booking.com or Airbnb.
What gear do you recommend for street photography?
When it comes to gear with street photography, less is generally more. So I always recommend one body and one prime lens. It’s also good to have a relatively wide lens. Personally, I always shoot with a 35mm or 28mm prime lens (full frame equivalent). Feel free to email me if you have any specific questions about gear.
What skill level is this workshop for?
These workshops are for all skill levels. The only requirement for attending this workshop is that you are comfortable using your camera. I do not recommend buying a new camera, which you are not familiar with, just before the workshop.
How long are the days?
It will be an intensive 3 days, often starting early and finishing late. So it’s best not to make any other plans during this time. We will meet at 9am on the first day (starting with theory in a classroom setting) and finish at 5pm on the final day.
Film or Digitial Cameras?
While film cameras can be great for street photography, if you have a digital camera, I recommend bringing that for my workshops.
Why? Two reasons; 1) it allows you to play and experiment more (you don’t have to worry about the limited number of frames you have left on your film), 2) it allows me to review your photos during the day and offer tailored advice.
How many people will be on the workshop?
All my workshops are limited to 6 attendees. The smaller number allows us to blend in more with our environment on the streets when we’ve got our cameras out. It also allows me to target the content more towards your ability, especially during the 1-2-1s.
